International Society for Technology in Education Forms SIG3D Special Interest Group for 3D Education
SIG3D was formed as a community for bringing together educators, researchers, educational technology developers, instructional technology innovators, and others interested in emerging technologies and proven applications of educational stereoscopic 3D. The community strives to provide and showcase high quality resources, pertinent research and instructional best practices for the growing stereoscopic 3D community.
The SIG3D leadership team consists of educators that have been recognized globally for their advancements in bringing 3D into the classroom. Team member Kristen Donley, Colorado Teacher of the Year, was one of the nation’s first 3D educators. Megan Power, Educator at Poway Unified School District, recently won two awards from the San Diego County Office of Education Innovative Video in Education for their student’s 3D movie, “Flashback in Time.” This leadership team of 3D pioneers was established to help other educators become more versed in 3D and create a community of educators around the world who are using 3D in education.
“I am happy to be a founding member with such an incredible group of educators. To be able to participate in a community that has so much influence on the future of education globally is overwhelming. Establishing this community will help in bringing together educators from around the world who are using 3D in education,” says Dennis Cafiero, Founder/CEO, Presente3D.
Educators, researchers, educational technology developers, instructional technology innovators, and others interested in emerging technologies are encouraged to become a member of SIG3D by visiting the official special interest group for 3D education page.
