TestVid Launches 4K 3D Uncompressed Test Video at IBC 2012
Stand 9.B24 (VidCheck), IBC 2012
At the IBC exhibition, Amsterdam (7-11 Sept.) TestVid will be launching the brand new 4K 3D test video suite designed specifically to provide all the 4K test video material that a broadcaster or equipment provider could need.
One of the themes of IBC 2012 is 4K video – but there is very little 4K video material available. The new test video suites from TestVid solve this problem: T3D041_4K is 3D uncompressed and T2V041_4K is 2D.
And vitally, although this video is provided in uncompressed 4096×2304 12-bit 4:2:2 in YUV format, a utility programme is provided to allow conversions such as:
– multiple resolutions including 4096×2304, 3840×2160
– any bit depth from 8-bit to 16-bit
– 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0
– YUV, RGB, BMP files, TIFF16 files, AVI as formats
All the different formats mean that these test videos can be used with just about any other equipment for real time playout (and also loaded into NLEs such as Final Cut and Adobe Premiere for playout via these applications).
Supplied on USB hard disk, T3D041_4K [3D] comprises nearly 2TB of video and T2V041_4K [2D] is nearly 1TB of video and both are supplied with full documentation – e.g. the 3D clips include full information on inter-ocular spacing, 3D depths as well as scene contents.
