Falcon allows, for the first time, a real-time view and control of what multiple cameras are capturing

AMIMON, the market leader in wireless HD and universal mobile connectivity, today announced the launch of Falcon, its wireless transmitter/receiver system kit for the professional camera and monitor market, at NAB 2012, April 16-19 in Las Vegas.

AMIMON Falcon enables professional camera manufacturers to give directors and producers a real-time view and control of multiple cameras without cabling. The no-latency wireless transmission of video and audio directly to the director or producer’s tablet monitor helps studios to save substantial costs and opens up new cable-less possibilities for photographers to move in open environments, such as in reality shows. Falcon is unique in its capability to support any SDI video resolution ( SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI).

AMIMON’s technology has already been proven in professional camera products already in the market as well as in medical applications, such as operating rooms, and in many tier one TV and PC devices.

At NAB 2012, visitors at the AMIMON booth (#SL14005) will experience Falcon in action, wirelessly transmitting from multiple cameras to multiple monitors. Both transmitters & receivers supports HD-SDI and HDMI interfaces.

Traditional compressing/uncompressing wireless data transmission solutions suffer from delays and audio/video quality degrading. However, Falcon is based on AMIMON’s revolutionary video modem concept which wirelessly transmits the video without any compression, delivering superior quality, robustness and zero latency.

Falcon supports any video resolution, including 1080p at 60Hz and 3D. The wireless video/audio transmission is encrypted according to the studio requirements using RSA, AES algorithms. Falcon operates in the 5GHz unlicensed band, requiring no line of sight between the camera and the monitor.

Falcon requires no special configuration or SW driver installation. Simply connect the transmitter to the HD-SDI output of the camera and the receiver to the HD-SDI input of the monitor. This plug-and-play operation makes it the ultimate solution for the most demanding internal and external studio production environments.
