Volfoni and ART Present 3D Glasses with Head-Tracking Technology
Volfoni is proud to present their 3D glasses with head-tracking technology, as designed by Advanced Realtime Tracking (ART). These 3D glasses are made specially for the virtual reality environment, and will be presented for the first time at the Laval Virtual Reality show held in France March 28th – April 1st.
At Laval show 2012, Volfoni’s 3D virtual reality products will be on demo at the booths of renowned companies in the virtual reality world. The ART tracker system paired with Volfoni 3D glasses will be showcased by AMD/Mechdyne and Dassault Systems, at booths H1 and D1-D3-D4, respectively.
The collaboration between ART and Volfoni has led to the development of two different sizes of durable, ergonomic head-trackers, adapted to two different models of Volfoni 3D glasses.
One size is for Volfoni’s EDGE brand of active 3D glasses. This line of high quality active glasses was first designed with IR synchronization for the cinema.
The other size has been developed for Volfoni’s ActivEyes Pro, which are Volfoni’s special hybrid 3D glasses that work with both active and passive 3D displays. These glasses are aimed at professionals working in a multi-3D-screen environment, as they are one of the most lightweight active glasses on the market, comfortable for all-day wear. ActivEyes can also synchronize using radio frequency.
Having the ART tracker attached to Volfoni 3D products is really a big step into the virtual reality dimension for Volfoni. The experience created is a spectacular immersion in virtual reality, with clear, bright 3D images, and a high level of comfort. The professionals developing virtual reality have welcomed this new product with great enthusiasm and confidence.
“Volfoni products allow for easy virtual reality applications. With Volfoni 3D glasses, the RF synchronization leaves the IR spectrum free for the tracking system. Moreover, we are very excited to discover all the possible applications of these programmable glasses,” said Bernard Mendiburu, VP of Strategic Partnerships at Volfoni.
Within its range of technological developments, Volfoni has other tools adapted to specific consumers needs, like the ActivHub Pro. This universal 3D emitter works as a 3D translator between DLP-Link, IR, VESA and RF protocols. It also offers a 3D synch analyzer mode to facilitate synchronization in complex installations.
