TestVid Launches New 3D Test Video Sequences at NAB 2012
Stand N3719 (UK Pavilion, in conjunction with VidCheck), NAB 2012
At NAB (booth N3719) TestVid will be showing three new sets of 3D video test sequences designed specifically for testing video codecs and other broadcast equipment.
At the moment there is a real lack of 3D video content that can be used widely for test and other purposes: the 3D Tvids are designed specifically to meet this need – the license on the test video sequences allows them to be used not only for test, but also for demonstrations, exhibitions and on websites.
Designed for broadcasters who need to check out broadcast equipment and test functionality prior to purchase or after installation, and equipment developers the video sets each comprise over 60 pairs of uncompressed Left+Right video, with associated audio (each set is 100’s of GBytes of video).
• T3D002 USA West comprises sequences filmed in San Francisco and Las Vegas at US frame rates: 1920×1080 at 59.94 progressive and also 29.97 interlaced.
• T3D007 Asia was filmed in South Korea, Japan and China and comprises sequences at 1920×1080 50p and 1920×1080 25i.
• T3D023 AsiaEurope comprises sequences at 1280×720 60p; 1920×1080 24p and 1920×1080 30p.
These sets of video comprise a comprehensive set of test material designed to stress codec equipment in many ways by including a wide range of ‘difficult’ subjects such as fast movement, reflections, lots of detail, night-time, highlights, hand-held camera, varying focus, varying contrast.
Comprehensive technical documentation is provided allowing users to quickly and easily select video sequences in each set of particular interest.
With these new sets and the existing set T3D003 Europe almost all 3-D formats are covered including 1080p60, 1080p30, 1080i30, 1080p50, 1080i25, 2Kp24 and 720p60.
Pricing and Availability
Some of the new 3D sequences are available now; all of them will be available by the time of NAB, at prices from US $1,499 to $2,199.
