3D Storytelling 2012 Conference Aims to Strengthen 3D Production and Creativity in the UK
22-23 March, Ravensbourne, London
According to Screen International, 3D films accounted for £245m at the UK box office in 2011. Globally, 3D movies took $6.1bn in 2010.
Several pioneering professionals and companies are at the heart of 3D technology in the UK but there is a growing demand to strengthen 3D production and creativity in this country. If the UK is to build a reputation for world class 3D production it is essential that the industry stays on top of 3D creative and technical developments for all platforms.
The 3D Storytelling Industry Conference 2012 will bring together over 1,000 UK professionals from the film, broadcast, advertising and gaming sectors to discuss how to use 3D effectively.
“Technology is allowing 3D to be explored in a creative and intelligent way and draw audiences into the heart of the stories we are producing. 3D Storytelling 2012 is the only UK conference that focuses on how to achieve this, whether this is for a short film, game or high-budget feature film” Carrie Wootten, Co-Director, 3D Storytelling 2012
Delegates will hear from speakers such as John Cassy, Director Sky 3D and Chris Parks, Stereographer (Jack The Giant Killer, Pirates of Caribbean) about the innovative ways the industry is using 3D to enhance stories across all platforms.
“3D Storytelling 2012 is a must for anyone who wants a better understanding of the creative potential, technical possibilities and future development of 3D,” – Chris Parks, Partner and Head Stereographer, VISION 3.
Following on from the success of 3D Storytelling 2011 this year the conference will host a new 3D Gaming section, 3D Research area and a 3D Futureslabs room. In partnership with FilmClub, delegates will this year also hear the results of research analysing childrens opinions about 3D.
“The UK is leading the way with Stereoscopic 3D production and we are thrilled that Ravensbourne will be repeating the event in 2012,” – Adam Sculthorp, Creative Director / Stereographer, DIMENSIONmedia
“3D will transform your business – it doesn’t matter if you are a small production company, a freelancer or an international ad agency – you need to know about it” – James Uren, Co-Director 3DStorytelling 2012.
