Vinten Showcases its Vector Family and 3D Wedge Adaptor for Shooting Stereo 3D at IBC2011
Vector range of products meets broadcasters’ every requirement from in the studio to outside broadcast environments
Vinten®, a Vitec Group brand and a global leader in camera supports, will show its entire range of Vector pan and tilt heads at this year’s IBC2011 to demonstrate how camera operators will get the same outstanding performance from any of the heads, regardless of the application.
The Vector range will be demoed alongside Vinten’s new 3D Wedge Adaptor to showcase the extensive capabilities of the heads, and display how the range of products can meet the challenges of supporting every application – from shooting in 2D to stereoscopic 3D.
‘The Vector Family’ includes seven types of pan and tilt heads, each designed to provide users with the same high quality, reliability and durability. The range includes the recently released Vector 75, the award winning Vector 430, the Vector 950 and the Vector 750, which is already in use and delivering proven performances in studios around the world.
Peter Harman, product manager at Vinten said: “Whether it’s an established product or one that’s new to the market – all of the heads in the Vector family provide the ultimate control and the best quality of movement. The capabilities may vary, but the quality and reliability is the same for every Vector product.”
“A studio can expand its capabilities by adding in equipment knowing that the technology will deliver familiarity and that the all-important feel of the Vector heads will be identical. Camera operators can simply set up and get on with the shoot, rather than having to spend time learning and making adjustments for the new equipment. Using Vector products across the board means consistency of performance wherever and however you are shooting.”
The core capabilities at the heart of the Vector range includes Vinten’s unique Perfect Balance technology, to provide effortless support, and TF drag providing complete camera control at any level of movement. Along with the ergonomically designed controls, other core features include illuminated controls, a simple but effective tool which provides quick and convenient set up in low light situations and a blue LED level bubble illumination that provides contrast in any light.
On display will be the Vector 75, the newest product in the Vector range launched at this year’s NAB2011 event. Its intelligent design is based on the vastly popular Vector 70 which camera operators rated so highly it soon became the industry standard studio and OB pan and tilt head. The new Vector 75 combines the original Vector 70 LF fluid drag system with operational enhancements from the class leading Vector 750.
Also on show will be the award winning compact Vector 430 pan and tilt head, capable of precisely balancing a wide range of camera configurations – from a lightweight EFP system, right up to a mini-box lens set up. The encoded version, 430i, provides an extremely high quality, highly accurate encoder output for virtual reality applications. The Vector 750 and the encoded version, the 750i, will also be demonstrated.
Another key member of the Vector family is the award winning 950 which is the highest capacity fluid head in the Vinten range and, with the new 3D Wedge Adaptor; it offers the ideal support for the many possible camera system configurations for shooting in S3D. The encoded version, 950i offers virtual reality capability and is fast becoming the pan and tilt head of choice for users of 3D stereo camera assemblies.
Peter Harman continued: “The Wedge Adaptor is a significant addition to our extensive range of accessories. It integrates seamlessly with the heads in the Vector family to perfectly balance the often heavy payloads used in 3D broadcast. Visitors to this year’s IBC2011 can see for themselves that the Vector family, demoed alongside the new adapter, proves that Vinten is 3D ready and camera operators really can work the way they choose without compromise.”
