OmniTek Presents Stereo 3D Monitoring Software at IBC 2011
At IBC 2011, test and measurement equipment manufacturer OmniTek is presenting a new stereo 3D monitoring option for the OTM 1000, OTR 1001 and OTR 1003 products. The new software provides a comprehensive range of colorimetry and depth-analysis functions, making the OmniTek system invaluable for use in live broadcast, ingest QC, and post-production applications.
The process of color balancing stereo camera rigs is made much easier with the tools provided by the OmniTek software. Differential waveform, vectorscope, and histogram displays plainly show differences between the left and right images. Real-time picture proxies can be configured to show left image, right image, L-R difference, checkerboard, toggle, and anaglyph modes. And, of course, there is comprehensive SDI error status and metadata analysis provided for each input channel.
3D geometry problems and depth budget analysis is provided via depth-mapping, depth-plan, and depth-histogram displays. Minimum and maximum disparity cursors are available, and the analysis software is integrated with the comprehensive QC error logging and SNMP trap capabilities of the OmniTek system. Target screen and viewer geometry settings can be loaded and stored as configuration files.
“Our new stereo-3D analysis package has been designed to address the requirements of stereographers working in both live broadcast and post-production environments”, says OmniTek president, Mike Hodson. “And the stereo-3D package is a software option enabled by a downloaded license file, which means our existing customer base can take advantage of this unique capability without having to buy any new equipment.”
The stereo-3D software operates on the popular OTM 1000 waveform monitor, the OTR 1003 signal analyzer, and the exciting new OTR 1001 rasterizer which is also new for IBC 2011. The OTR 1001 builds on the worldwide success of the XR system in post-production, and represents the next-generation of high-resolution 3Gb/s-capable 1RU waveform monitoring and signal generator systems.
OmniTek’s full range of advanced test and measurement products at IBC 2011 on booth 6..A.18. The new stereo 3D software can also be seen in real work scenarios on the Digital Vision booth, the Quantel booth, and the SGO Mistika booth.
