Extension of Epoch & Symmetry DI workflow solutions

Bluefish444, manufacturer of the industry’s highest-quality uncompressed SD/HD/2K video cards and P+S TECHNIK, well-known developer and manufacturer of digital cinema cameras, have announced a collaboration to enable Bluefish444 Epoch video cards to natively support the P+S TECHNIK WeisscamRAW format.

Bluefish444 will engineer support for the WeisscamRAW format into the Epoch product range as a supported file format in the Bluefish444 Symmetry 3D & DI software. As a result, Epoch & Symmetry users will be able to ingest 2K and HD footage from the WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII digital high speed camera in 720p and 1080p variable frame rates which are the most commonly used in slow motion effects.

The WeisscamRAW format is native to the WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII digital high speed camera. It is an exceptional motion picture camera with up to 4,000 fps and superb picture quality ideal for shooting commercials, documentaries, sports and feature films and is 3D capable, having been used throughout the last year for 3D special effects in feature film production.

The WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII digital high speed camera offers live HD-SDI preview in regular frame rate cinematographic quality. It has two parallel dual link HD-SDI outputs. One HD SDI output as WeisscamRAW (fast and standard) and the other as standard HD SDI to ensure a fully integrated IT based post production workflow. The multi-format capacity and integrated debayering allow a variety of HD SDI monitoring and recording settings.

The Epoch video card range supports 12 bit SDI capture, 12 bit uncompressed video processing, 3D and 2K dual link I/O, pristine hardware based real time resolution scaling, 3 X 1D LUT’s and DVI/HDMI preview of SDI inputs and outputs. It is the perfect high quality uncompressed I/O device to compliment the WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII digital high speed camera.

Epoch and Symmetry will act as a digital intermediary between the WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII digital high speed camera and any industry high end digital content creation software that natively supports the WeisscamRAW format.
