P+S TECHNIK has become an official reseller of selected 1 Beyond™ products, integrating two versions of the portable Wrangler Mini 3D™ into SI-2K and WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII Camera Systems

P+S TECHNIK integrated two versions of the portable Wrangler Mini 3D into its product portfolio and is selling those solutions directly to existing and prospective P+S TECHNIK customers via the P+S TECHNIK reseller distribution network. The compact and lightweight 1 Beyond™ Wrangler Mini 3D™ DDR (Direct to Disc Recorder) and Viewer is an ideal on-camera solution for professionals shooting in 2D and 3D. The Wrangler Mini 3D utilizes a 8 processor design providing the power for DDR features including real-time processing of mono and stereo RAW or HD-SDI inputs while simultaneously displaying live 2D or 3D to DVI, HDMI or HD-SDI 3D outputs. It can also convert between 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 formats for HD-SDI output. These multiple simultaneous outputs allow for Broadcast Live while recording.

Two specific versions of the Wrangler Mini 3D are particularly interesting for P+S TECHNIK customers: The Wrangler Mini 3D-SI and the Wrangler Mini 3D-HD.

Wrangler Mini 3D-SI for SI-2K and SI-3D Camera Systems

The Wrangler Mini 3D-SI integrates perfectly into the P+S TECHNIK range of solutions for stereo in motion. The complete system, comprising 16Digital lenses, the SI-3D Stereo Camera System, the Freestyle Rig and the Wrangler Mini 3D-SI, is ideal for shoulder and Steadycam shooting and ensures a smooth digital 3D capture and post production workflow.

Wrangler Mini 3D-SI and SI-3D Stereo Camera System

SI-3D camera heads allow for a compact S3D capture system and the ability to use a wide variety of lenses on a 2K sensor that captures +11 stops of dynamic range. Featuring the SiliconDVR software, the signals from two SI-3D camera heads are encoded simultaneously to a single 3D CineForm RAW or 3D CineForm HD file by the internal multiplexer of the Wrangler Mini™ 3D-SI. The 3D CineForm RAW workflow and the 3D CineForm HD workflow are available with e.g. Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, AVID and IRIDAS. The SiliconDVR software also allows for a number of intuitive, thoughtful 3D tools, including camera alignment views (e.g. difference image, edge detection, dual histograms, false color exposure etc.) and real-time playback in stereo. With a single SI-2K camera head, the Wrangler Mini 3D can also be used as a 2D recorder and viewer, of course.

The Wrangler Mini 3D suits perfectly to the Freestyle Rig in motion

The P+S TECHNIK 3D Setup, comprising the Freestyle Rig, the SI-3D Stereo Camera System and Wrangler 3D recorders, has been used exclusively on the production of SAW VII 3D. “The SI-3D is a compact, powerful package with image quality that rivals 35mm. The workflow is simple. It’s like a shooting onto a digital negative with lots of detail in every frame. Wrangler Mini 3D-HD for WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII Camera Systems

The Wrangler Mini 3D-HD features a HD-SDI input and records directly into useable and editable formats with no extra step. WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII Operators have the choice if they want to capture directly to DPX, Cineon, MOV or AVI compressed or uncompressed. All quality levels of CineForm, which is the most universally and immediately editable format, is available on-the-fly. No expensive reader or transcoder system is necessary. In addition, the Wrangler Mini 3D-HD will support WEISSCAM HS-2 MKII RAW files, soon.
