VidOvation shows DIRAC-PRO solutions for solving 3D and 3G HD-SDI bandwidth issues
VidOvation, a company offering world class manufacturing, distribution, consulting and services for video communications solutions, has announced their new DIRAC-PRO solutions allowing the convenient implementation of visually lossless multiplexing of two HD-SDI channels over a single infrastructure. The product will be available for view and testing at VidOvation’s booth (#C7248) at the 2011 NAB Show in Las Vegas, starting April 11th.
VidOvation is currently the only importer in the United States of this 3D-capable product.
“Many broadcasters and government agencies have been blindsided by the demands of 3D and higher resolutions video formats,” says Jim Jachetta, CEO of VidOvation. “The DIRAC-PRO visually lossless compression technology provides a cost effective means to support the demands of 3D and 3G HD-SDI on existing infrastructure. And these demands go beyond broadcast entertainment. Government agencies have been implementing 3D and HD in flight simulation and training.”
The DIRAC-PRO is ideal for 3D or two camera contribution and distribution or studio to studio transport. The DP221 allows easy implementation of visually lossless multiplexing of two HD-SDI channels over a single HD-SDI infrastructure. In situations where the channel capacity is restricted to a single HD-SDI link, the DP200 series allows an additional HD-SDI channel to be added. Ideal for 3D applications since both the left and right camera signals are carried together so any further delay in the path means both images stay in step.
