Paul Carrack and Panasonic Raise Funds for Thames Hospicecare with 3D Live Studio Recorded Blu-ray Disc
Music Legend Paul Carrack and Panasonic Celebrate an Industry First and Raise Over £1200 For Thames Hospicecare.
Member of legendary 80’s pop group Mike and the Mechanics, Paul Carrack, celebrated the production of Panasonic’s first ‘end-to-end’ 3D Blu-ray Disc with a signing of his latest album at Panasonic UK’s head office in Bracknell, Berkshire yesterday.
Commissioned and filmed by Panasonic at Air Studios in Hampstead, London, the 3D Blu-ray Disc is the industry’s first live studio recording in 3D. Panasonic AV Systems Europe, manufacturers of the first integrated professional 3D broadcast camera – the AG-3DA1, was responsible for the filming of Paul Carrack’s performance. Authored at Panasonic’s Hollywood Laboratory, the 3D Blu-ray Disc is now available exclusively from Panasonic with qualifying Panasonic 3D TV & 3D Blu-ray packages and demonstrates Panasonic complete ‘end-to-end’, or ‘scene to screen’, 3D capability.
To celebrate this exciting development in 3D by Panasonic, Paul Carrack and music producer Peter Van Hooke were available to meet staff and visitors at Panasonic UK’s head office in Bracknell. Participants could experience a demonstration of Paul’s 3D performance watching it on a Panasonic TX-P65VT20 Full-HD 3D VIERA TV and purchase signed copies of his latest album, A Different Hat, with all proceeds going to Thames Hospicecare. The generous sum of £638.27, was raised through donations, merchandise contributions and raffle ticket sales, was matched by Panasonic UK to reach a grand total of £1276.54.
Claire Suggs Community and Events Fundraiser at Thames Hospicecare stated; “I had a fantastic day at Panasonic on 1st December, and enjoyed meeting the very talented Paul Carrack. The atmosphere was great and we are thrilled that so many staff bought CD’s and raffle tickets. Panasonic are very generous for matching the raffle money raised, to make the total a massive £1276.54. This is a huge sum of money, and is enough for us to provide 64 hours of specialist nursing care, to a local family. Panasonic are always very supportive of our local hospice, and we are very grateful to them and all their staff.”
