BBC Earth, BBC Worldwide’s natural history brand, and 3D specialist Evergreen Films announced a major new partnership today beginning with a 3D dinosaur feature film that will immerse audiences in the prehistoric age.

The film will be the flagship project that launches a 360 degree collaboration between BBC Worldwide and Evergreen Films to take our audience with us on a quest to explore the Dinosaur world. Our unique experience in combining world class factual content with captivating storytelling will take our audience on an unprecedented journey.

The story we will tell is of one of the greatest ever to have unfolded on Earth: a story of families born and families torn apart, of growing up, of rivalry and competition – and the relentless struggle to survive. Amazing new dinosaur discoveries allow us to tell it for the first time.

In creating the film we are bringing together the makers of landmark BBC productions including Planet Earth, Walking with Dinosaurs and Life with the team behind When Dinosaurs Roamed America and Dinosaur Planet. These projects were just the beginning of an adventure so extraordinary, so huge that it is only now that we have the technical capability and understanding to do it dramatic justice on the big screen. Our audience will enjoy an immersive, entertaining experience that will allow them into the Dinosaur world as if it is real. However, the visual expertise is just the tip of the iceberg, the real journey will be an emotional one as the compelling drama and characters bring our audience closer than ever before to understanding our Dinosaurs as they strive to succeed in the Prehistoric world.
