3D Creative Summit Confirms Successful Applicants for Producer’s Lab
Ravensbourne and The International 3D Society confirm the successful applicants for the 3D Creative Summit Producer’s Lab, a week before the event– the inaugural two-day international event will be held at the BFI on 27 and 28 March 2013.
The ‘3D Producers Lab’, will be chaired by Emily Man of Creative Skillset, at which a select group of producers will have access to leading UK and international 3D experts including Sky’s Channel Director John Cassy, and Stereographer Chris Parks (Jack The Giant Slayer, Vision 3), to equip producers with the knowledge and skills of producing content in 3D. Ravensbourne and the International 3D Society believe this knowledge is crucial for the sustainability of the UK film industry and for the UK to remain at the forefront of the creative and technical explorations in 3D.
The Lab applicants were either developing a 3D feature project or feature or had already made a 3D short. The fifteen successful applicants, amongst an overwhelming number of hopefuls, include the highly experienced like Barry Ryan of Warp Films who produced This Is England and Ajay Rai of Gunslinger Films the producers of Ill Manors, through to newer producers such as Kate Ogborn of Fly Film Company, Joe Kennedy of Mountain Films and Andrea Florence of Aquila Films, all of whom had produced a number of ground-breaking documentaries.
The 3D Creative Summit, the first of its kind in the UK is delighted to welcome a live link up with Oscar-winning director, Ang Lee, about his triumphant win for ‘The Life Of Pi’. He will be joined in London, by the VFX consultant on the film, David Conley.
