BVE North Announces 8% Visitor Increase for 2012 Event
World firsts and networking galore at BVE North 2012
Trade show attracts senior professionals in the northern regions and increases visitors by 8%
BVE North 2012 proved even more successful than last year’s event, with more free seminar content, more exhibitors, a higher percentage of decision makers and 2587* unique visitors – an increase of 8% compared to 2011.
The free seminar streams were as popular as ever, with expert speakers sharing their knowledge about diverse topics across the production spectrum, from script development to lighting techniques and editing tips to file-based workflows. The quality of content on offer also increased the number of revisits by 43% on last year, with 427** people attending for a second day. Networking and career advancement opportunities were plentiful, with numerous bar meet-ups and several after-hours events offering a chance to catch up with old colleagues and make valuable new connections.
Exhibitors reported good footfall and high quality leads, borne out by the visitor statistics which showed that 43% were employed in management positions with purchasing power, from leading local, national and international companies including BBC, Channel 10, City Broadcasting, dock10, Engage Sports Media, FremantleMedia Ltd, ITV, Lime Pictures, Manchester Digital, Microsoft, Red Bee Media, S.O.A.P. Media Productions and Sumners. These visitors were rewarded with some key product launches and demonstrations, including the world premiere of Røde Reporter microphones, the first UK presentation of Vinten Radamec’s CP4 control solution, and demonstrations of the brand new Sony F55 camera.
Anthony Kimber, Director, AKM Music, said, “We’re pleased and encouraged by the calibre of visitors we’ve had on the stand, they are serious people at the right place in the production chain, and they are different people to those we see at BVE in London. BVE North has become a bigger and better show, and I think it will continue to grow and grow.”
Guillaume Garatain, Product Manager, PNY, said, “This is the first time we have exhibited at BVE North and we are very satisfied with the event. As we continue to expand our UK network, it is logical for us to attend this show together with BVE London in order to reach the right people. We have made good contacts in this important region and plan to come back next year.”
Dave Nicoll, Business Development Manager, Sematron, said, “BVE North has far exceeded all my expectations, we have collected double the number of leads that I was expecting and met some very interesting people – it has been a fantastic show.”
Mike Fitchie, Technical Director, The Picture Exchange, said, “The show presents a fantastic opportunity to meet with industry movers and shakers. Once again it’s been a brilliant experience at BVE North.”
Anita Pal, Event Director, i2i Events, said, “BVE North 2012 has been an incredible success, building on the strong foundations that were put down last year to create an important date in the industry calendar. We are really pleased to have the support of the industry for this event and it’s been great to see how busy the stands and theatres have been throughout the show.”
BVE North will return to Manchester on 12-13 November 2013. BVE takes place at ExCeL in London from 26-28 February 2013.
