Meduza Systems Continues World Tour and Ships First TITAN 3D Camera to Tectum in Germany
TITAN WORLD DEMO TOUR KICKS OFF USA LEG AT CREATEASPHERE ENTERTAINMENT TECHNOLOGY EXPO AT BURBANK MARRIOT NOVEMBER 7 & 8
SAN FRANCISCO, FLORIDA, LONDON, PARIS, BERLIN, MUMBAI, NEW DELHI, CHENNAI & SYDNEY AMONG WORLD TOUR DEMO DATES
MEDUZA SYSTEMS, developer of the Meduza TITAN 3D Camera, the first modular, fully controllable, light weight single S3D camera system, begins the US leg of their World Demonstration Tour at Createasphere Technology Expo (Nov. 7&8) , it was announced today by Chris Cary, CEO of MEDUZA SYSTEMS UK. Designed to withstand obsolescence, delivery of the first Meduza TITAN 3D Cameras to German 3D and high speed specialist TECTUM, completes the first week in November during the Expo, where hands-on live demonstrations will show some of the system’s new and future modular components, including designs for the TITAN mirror module.
“The Meduza modular system, with high-speed capability up to 340fps on the way, is designed to be future proof and we will be showing how and why,” says Cary.
With Europe currently seeing more 3D creative activity than the US, the very first TITAN awaits an enthusiastic reception at TECTUM in Berlin, Germany. “We tested the TITAN prototype at two recent live concert shoots and ordered one immediately,” says Tectum Director Christian Klimke. “It’s fast to set up, easy to hand hold, completely versatile and fits easily into a multi-camera workflow.” TECTUM will be offering the TITAN both as a reseller in Berlin and for rental. Nine further cameras are shipping in November to one reseller to be announced shortly.
The World Demo Tour has already begun in Europe with dates in Berlin and Munich and continues to Amsterdam, London and Paris before the end of the year. “Asia is showing all the signs as the biggest emerging market where the TITAN will demo and test in November and December, in Mumbai, New Delhi and Chennai,” says Cary. “ The Indian market produces 1000s of hours of original programming and needs a professional, high quality, easy to use 3D camera that is ready to go straight out of the box, with variable interaxial and convergence and is comfortable in both the feature film and TV production environments, that is what we have built”.
The Meduza TITAN system has integrated the 3ality wireless control hardware to give the camera complete mobile freedom using 3ality and Preston hand controllers as well as the 3Ality iPad, iPhone and iPad mini app. Meduza has also confirmed that it will be possible to install other systems including cmotion and Meduza’s own on board controls.
Also at Createasphere, Meduza will debut the M-CAM, a fully motorized mini/POV 2D camera with features including fully remote controlled iris and focus using the outstanding Meduza Delta 4K Lenses and intend to preview the 14mm –140mm zoom. The M-CAM in standard version runs at up to 60p and in high speed is currently running at 340fps. “The M-CAM is a high quality independent POV camera in its own right, for use in every area of production, but it is also an add-on module for the TITAN,” says Cary. “Adding M-CAMs as satellite cameras to the TITAN can provide synchronised multi-view 3D in what we call Stereo+Plus®. This approach is being widely tested by studios and production companies for autostereoscopic display systems”.
