SIM2, the Italian manufacturer known worldwide for their pristine video performance and stunning aesthetic design, takes the visual experience to the next level with the introduction of SIRIO: the new high-brightness, active 3D single-chip DLP® based projector. The SIRIO projector transforms any large media room into the ultimate high-tech, high performance entertainment system.
This new single-chip 3D DLP® projector is designed to be used with large screen sizes or in ambient light room conditions, where high brightness is a necessity. SIRIO delivers the delicate balance between sheer power and the ability to accurately define the dynamics of an image, which is crucial for true high-end image quality. The SIRIO projector, powered by a dual 350W lamp system, delivers images with both very high brightness (up to 6,000 ANSI lumens) and high contrast (up to 6,000:1).
Installation flexibility is another of the SIRIO strengths thanks to a fixed 0.77:1 lens and a further 4 lenses covering a throw range of 1.21-6.97:1. It features both horizontal and vertical motorised optical shift and there are memories on the shift, zoom and focus to allow easy anamorphic projection without external lenses.
SIRIO is available with a choice of two different SIM2 colour wheel options – SIM2Color and SIM2Shine – each designed to offer optimal performance depending on whether colour or brightness is a priority. The SIRIO also features SIM2’s advanced Live Colours Calibration 2.0 software that enables complete adjustment of the primary, secondary and white point colour coordinates. Control options include an RJ-45 connector (Ethernet or LAN) and a USB port hosting a dedicated USB-wireless adaptor, enabling easy integration with control systems, IP control and remote monitoring and serviceability.
“SIRIO has been designed to complement the current SIM2 range by providing additional solutions to the real-world challenges faced by installers,” Alan Roser, Managing Director of SIM2 UK Ltd concludes. “SIRIO delivers large images in ambient lighting without the screen reflections typical of flat panels. Two piece projection systems deliver a big picture that can disappear when not in use and provide a wealth of customisation and calibration options, that are just not possible on a flat panel, for material as varied as sports, films, 3D and gaming, all optimised for both day-time and night-time viewing.”
The SIRIO is available in a striking matte black finish, and will start shipping in October with a UK MSRP starting from £19,995 inc VAT for the standard lens option.
