ZTE Plans 3D Capable Set-Top Box Based on Android OS
Conditional access system vendor enables ZTE to develop technology for DTV services
ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has obtained Conditional Access authorisation from global conditional access system (CAS) vendor Nagravision, enabling the company to access and develop technology for digital television (DTV) services..
According to the agreement, ZTE will be authorised by Nagravision for interconnection with Nagravision’s DTV system. As a result of the authorisation, ZTE will have wider access to the markets in which Nagravision operates, providing intelligent set-top boxes (STBs) to Nagravision customers around the world.
ZTE Vice President Chen Xinyu said: “In light of the current trend of convergence between DTV and IPTV, the collaboration between ZTE and Nagravision provides live channels with DTV and interactive services with IPTV/OTT systems. This is a crucial step in our path of exploring European DTV markets and helps ZTE strengthen its IPTV-DTV hybrid end-to-end solution capability.”
