Image Matters Debuts Video Systems Supporting Stereoscopic 3D and High Frame Rates at IBC 2012
Stand 10.D31, IBC 2012
Image Matters develops innovative high-performance hardware and software for advanced imaging applications. Leveraging the advantages of JPEG2000 for preserving image quality during post-production and distribution, Image Matters video boards provide accelerated encoding and decoding of multiple broadcast HD channels and cinema images at 2K and 4K resolution. Advanced software tools are available to manipulate IMF, DCP, AXF, and ASO2 and to protect contents with encryption, decryption, and key management.
Supporting Stereoscopic 3D (S3D) and High Frame Rate (HFR), Image Matters products offer OEMs, integrators, and video professionals a powerful, cost-effective new route to superior quality in high-end image processing.
“IBC 2012 marks the European debut for Image Matters and its innovative technology. If you’re serious about maintaining the best image quality through post-production, or if you’re developing higher frame rates and resolution systems, come and see us at booth 10.D31”. Jean-François Nivart, CEO.
New Products for the 2012 IBC Show
I’m-XS: High-performance JPEG2000/uncompressed video board
Designed for professional imaging applications I’m-XS delivers outstanding quality with uncompressed or JPEG2000 images. I’m-XS processes HD and 2K content in real time at up to 60 frames per second and can be combined with additional I’m-XS units for more demanding applications such as 4K images at 60 fps.
The well-connected I’m-XS offers two 3G video inputs and outputs, and can connect directly to all SD, HD or 2K, single or dual, SDI signal sources. I’m-XS is equipped with a PCI Express GEN2 x4 connector enabling fast picture and compressed data stream exchange with a host PC or MAC at more than 4Gbps. An optional HDMI connector provides a convenient monitoring solution with overlay capability.
I’m-XS is highly flexible and can be configured for any data flow for a wide range of applications where the ultimate image quality is required.
Also Showing at IBC 2012: High-Frame Rate quality experimentation system
At IBC 2012, Image Matters will show a new system for digital cinema high frame rate quality evaluation. The system delivers playback of JPEG 2000 codestream at bitrate in excess of 1 Gbps — more than four times the current DCI specification. The decoded 2K images are transmitted to projector at a frame rate of up to 120 fps (60 fps per eye for Stereoscopic 3D content). To allow the easy production of multiple encoding formats, the system can encode high frame rate content from uncompressed files in near real-time.
