Following on from the success of last year’s event, this year’s VFX Advantage conference promises to be even bigger!
Running over two days and with double the content, filmmakers will discover how VFX & Stereo 3D have been used to create box office hits by the people who made them.
The two day conference produced by The Directors Guild and funded by Creative Skillset is designed specifically for directors, cinematographers, producers and production managers who will be given the necessary knowledge and contacts to use VFX confidently and efficiently in the future.
Industry specialists behind Hugo, Moon, Prometheus and Streetdance 2 reveal the opportunities created through integrating visible and invisible VFX into projects of varying budgets and genres.
Joining the speaker line-up is Christoph Malessa, UK Studio Head of Pixomondo, the Oscar winning Visual Effects House behind Hugo, talking about how the work was distributed and completed across the global Pixomondo pipeline and their collaboration with Rob Legato, Scorcese’s VFX Supervisor.
Also speaking is James Richardson of Vertigo Films and producer of lower-budget smash-hits Streetdance 2 and Monsters looking at what they did differently second time round with Streetdance 2.
VFX supervisors Richard Stammers and Simon Stanley Clamp talk us through the VFX process respectively on Prometheus and Moon.
