S3DAW1206EX Advanced Stereo 3D Workshop (Exeter)
Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM (GMT)
Exeter, United Kingdom
Are you a live action film or documentary maker?
Ever thought about making a stereo 3D movie?
The Digital Film Company delivers a series of practical, hands-on stereo 3D training workshops aimed at industry professionals such as independent producers and directors, camera operators, DOP’s, independent film makers and documentary TV makers.
These workshops emphasise picking up a 3D camera and actually going out and shooting some real 3D footage – this is a hands-on course using a variety of 3D cameras, 3D displays to watch the footage and of course plenty of 3D specs are provided!
For 2012 we have partnered with Creative Skillset to extend our stereo 3D training programme content and deliver it across the South West region.
The course structure is modular and is built around 4 one-day workshops:
1. Introductory Stereo 3D Workshop
2. Stereo 3D Filming Workshop
3. Advanced 3D Workshop
4. Introductory 3D Post-Production Workshop
Advanced Stereo 3D Workshop
This one-day workshop introduces more sophisticated 3D camera systems. Two cameras types are covered: a top-end broadcast-capable 3D camcorder and a 2-camera stereo mirror-rig.
The workshop explains how these two cameras work, shows the set-up required, looks at the workflow and productivity aspects of each and considers their appropriate use. Emphasis is on practical experience so participants will set-up and shoot with both systems during the day.
Attendees will have an opportunity to edit their footage on the Introductory Stereo 3D Post-Production Workshop.
What’s Included
Tea/coffee, refreshments, lunch and plenty of stereo 3D technology to play with
Testimonials
“This workshop is an excellent training course for anyone wanting to learn about 3D filming. The theory is explained in a very clear and understandable manner and is followed by an invaluable practical session, giving you hands on experience with 3D cameras and putting what you have learnt into practice. I thoroughly recommend this fun and informative course if you are wanting to work in this new and exciting field.”
Mihali Moore, Cameraman, Bristol
“Neil’s masterclass was incredibly informative and engaging. The hands-on approach to making a short film during the course helped all his teaching sink in and come to life in a really powerful way”
Oliver Purches, Writer/Director, Bristol
‘Having recently attended Neil Richards Panasonic 3D Event at Pinewood studios I would recommend his presentation to those involved in the early stages of setting up a 3D production for the first time. Neil is informative and knowledgeable with a good cameraman’s eye and does not over complicate his presentation with too much technicality but instead concentrates on the most important principals and pit falls of 3D shooting.’
Julian Meers, Production Manager, London
“Neil’s 3D training course was excellent, and I came away with a firm grasp of the theory of 3D shooting. Invaluable for anyone wanting to start shooting in 3D.”
Chris Jones, DoP, Bristol
“I attended a talk by Neil and then a two day course on the subject of filming in 3D. Neil made the technical theory easy to understand and put together a very good curriculum for the course. I feel I now have a good grasp of the theory and practice of creating 3D film.”
Tim Shapcott, Digital Online Media Executive, Bristol
