CAMERON | PACE Group Incorporates Vantage Film Hawk Anamorphic Lenses Into 3D and 5D Solutions
Companies Plan to Co-Develop New Anamorphic Solutions Specifically for Emerging 5D Category of Content Creation
CAMERON | PACE Group – the worldwide leader in 3D production technology and services – today announced that it has partnered with Vantage Film to begin developing 3D/5D anamorphic lens systems that will empower the content creation community with an entirely new toolset they can use to elevate the level quality, depth, and engagement of the entertainment they deliver.
“Contemporary filmmakers benefit tremendously from the technology they have at their disposal,” said Vince Pace, co-founder, CAMERON | PACE Group. “Together with Vantage Film, we intend to further enhance their toolkit, making it easier and more efficient to immerse audiences into the stories they want to tell.”
CAMERON | PACE Group (CPG) and Vantage Film will collaborate closely on new solutions designed specifically to address the needs of 3D/5D content creation, beginning with the incorporation of Hawk 28mm, 35mm, 45mm, 55mm, 80mm, and 110mm lenses into existing CPG solutions.
Vantage Film is currently developing an innovative anamorphic lens system whose stated goal is to set a future benchmark for anamorphic cinematography. Prior to worldwide availability, this cutting-edge solution will be delivered to CPG for evaluation and possible use on upcoming 3D/5D productions.
Introduced by James Cameron and Vince Pace at the 2012 NAB Show, 5D production consists of a single camera system that can capture both 2D and 3D simultaneously, without requiring additional budget. Anamorphic cinematography refers to the technique of capturing a widescreen picture on non-native widescreen aspect ratio visual recording media.
