Spatial View Inc., a pioneer in stereo 3D content delivery and auto-stereoscopic display technologies, today announced the availability of 3DeeCentral on LG Cinema 3D TVs. This represents a major milestone in Spatial View’s strategy to provide an online service for the delivery and sharing of content across all 3D platforms.
Today, LG Electronics, Inc., announced that LG Cinema TVs shipped in Canada will feature Spatial View’s 3DeeCentral as a premium app and will be available in the LG Apps TV Store worldwide. The initial version of 3DeeCentral for LG features a sample of free 3D content, with pay-for-play content being added later this year.
“We are thrilled to be a launch partner for Spatial View’s 3DeeCentral on our LG Cinema 3D Smart TV platform,” says Ross Snow, Vice President of Sales, LG Electronics Canada Inc. “LG strives to enable easy access to 3D content through our Cinema 3D technology, giving owners the best opportunity to get the most exciting 3D content available today.”
In addition to the LG Cinema 3D TV, 3DeeCentral supports the following platforms: iPhone 4/4S with Spatial View’s 3DeeSlide, Android 3D smartphones, 3D PCs including both active and passive technologies, as well as selected Windows 7 2D laptops with Spatial View’s recently introduced 3DeeScreen. Spatial View will continue to add support for additional 3D TVs from major manufacturers in 2012.
“The rapid adoption of 3D devices is outpacing the availability of 3D content for those devices,” says Al Lopez, COO, Spatial View. “3DeeCentral meets this growing need, that has not yet been met, by delivering 3D content across a wide range of devices everywhere, now including the living room.”
3DeeCentral provides full-length videos including recent additions such as Peter Gabriel’s New Blood Live in London in 3 Dimensions concert, and cult films such as “Night of the Living Dead in 3D” and “Plan 9 from Outer Space”. 3DeeCentral includes a growing library of over 200 titles of full length and short form videos and photo collections from independent and premiere producers worldwide.
