BBC Broadcasts Strictly Final Live in 3D on iPlayer, Satellite, Terrestrial and Cable
On Saturday 17th December the BBC will be broadcasting Strictly Come Dancing, The Final, live in 3D for the first time ever!
This experimental trial can be viewed at home if you watch Strictly on the BBC HD Channel with a 3D enabled television and live in selected cinemas across the UK.
The BBC will be transmitting on the main broadcast platforms, Satellite (Freesat and Sky), Terrestrial (Freeview) and Cable (Virgin Media), as well as BBC iPlayer as a technical trial:
– The left and right pictures will be converted from 1080 line interlace 25 frames a second (1080i/25) to 720 line progressive at 50 frames a second (720p/50).
– Both images will be sub sampled into a single top/bottom image.
– The data rate will be encoded for iPlayer distribution
