In a European first, Mitsubishi Electric is to demonstrate its latest home cinema product innovation at IFA 2011, affirming its role as a market leader in the field.
With the Home Cinema Laser Display, Mitsubishi Electric is presenting the latest generation of its ground-breaking laser technology 3D home cinema display to a European audience for the first time. Mitsubishi Electric is the world’s only manufacturer to date to develop home cinema laser displays and successfully bringing them to market.
“The Home Cinema Laser Display sets new standards in the field of home cinema with its unbelievably realistic cinema quality colour reproduction, extreme picture clarity and extraordinary depth of sharpness,” says Lars Dörholt, Deputy Division Manager at Mitsubishi Electric Germany, Visual Information Systems.
In demonstrating the Home Cinema Laser Display, Mitsubishi Electric is conducting a market study to test the reaction of German and European consumers and resellers to its laser displays which have already been very successfully marketed under the brand of LaserVue in the USA.
New HD 3D home cinema projector
An entirely new DLP projector, which is also premiering at IFA 2011, will be available for retail shortly. The projector has the potential to become the new flagship 3D device thanks to its enhanced depth effects, cinema quality colour reproduction and sharp motion sequences, even during fast-paced action and sports scenes. Technical highlights of the product include a new anti-ghosting strategy and a frame rate converter, which generates up to four times the actual number of images present. An intelligent 2D/3D converter uses a new process to prepare 2D film material to create astounding depth effects with realistic 3D-effects. In addition, Mitsubishi Electric offers innovative high-speed shutter glasses (also newly developed) for brighter and more brilliant images to take the home cinema experience to a new level.
The HC9000 Advanced, the next generation of the successful HC9000 full-HD 3D home cinema projector, will also be on display at the show. Thanks to an active shutter process and innovative 240 Hz technology, the HC9000 series proves its exceptional 2D reproduction capabilities. The new HC9000 Advanced offers new features such as intelligent 3D frame interpolation and fine-tuned colour management for a gripping home cinema experience.
Partner companies with equally high-grade products will also feature on Mitsubishi Electric’s 250 m2 booth at IFA. Audio specialist Marantz is presenting premium class sound components while long-term partner Paramount is showing motion pictures in the experience areas Main Cinema, Living Room and the small Film Theatre, with a cross-section of its latest film productions.
Mitsubishi Electric and Paramount have a long history of partnering around events and creating exciting movie bundles for the home cinema market.
