iPONT Shows its Glasses-Free 3D TV at IBC2011
SES Astra/iPONT International Stand: 1.B51
With or without glasses, that is the 3D TV question:
At this year’s IBC in Amsterdam, iPONT International plans to test how far without glasses 3D TV is away from being ready for the consumer in the home.
At the SES stand (1.B51) iPONT will show a wide-angle 42″ autostereoscopic (without-glasses) LCD screen with its proprietary 3D TV box, a device that streams real-time 3D broadcast content from a satellite receiver to the display. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the excellent quality that autostereoscopic 3D displays can already deliver today based on iPONT’s technology.
Said Tamas Vahl, global director iPONT International: “We have learned an incredible amount about our 3D without glasses technology from a number of public 3D sports demonstrations. We are now at the point where we can demonstrate just how close we are to building a glasses-free 3D experience for the consumer in their living room.”
