Delta Media Servers to supply key content on transformed booth
Renowned media serving specialist 7thSense Design provided core content technology to support projectiondesign®’s new-look booth at InfoComm in Orlando, Florida.
As projectiondesign shifted its tradeshow focus towards demonstrating a broader range of real-world applications, the ability of 7thSense’s Delta™ Media Server to provide moving imagery of the highest quality came to the fore.
Highlights on the booth included an immersive 220-degree projection dome comprising six channels of 1080p high-resolution video content, in addition to a dedicated 3D showcase in an area focused on industrial visualization, virtual reality and simulation applications.
7thSense Design are experts in Media Serving throughout a variety of markets from Digital Signage, through Visitor Attractions and including Full Domes for Planetariums and Live Events. The Delta Media Server works to scale all the way from small form factor single HD playback to a Quad or Hex-Output fully uncompressed video playback server. It has frame-accurate editing, live video input, 3D Stereo capability and the fundamental flexibility of real-time composition with built-in effects, warp and blend.
Commenting on the tie-up between the two companies, Ian Macpherson, Director, 7thSense Design, says: “We have worked with projectiondesign on a number of high-profile, cutting-edge projects, including the Water Planet exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences, the Giant Beating Heart at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago and other ground-breaking installations. We are full of admiration not just for their projector technology but also for their commitment to raising the quality of the projected image, which runs throughout the company.
“We are therefore delighted to have supplied our Delta Media Servers to the projectiondesign booth at InfoComm, helping to show the company’s projectors at their best by showing uncompressed, ultra-high resolution content from the likes of nWave, the UK National Space Center, the American Museum of Natural History and Imagination.”
Anders Løkke, Marketing Director, projectiondesign, adds: “Our completely transformed booth at InfoComm was done to completely change the way people see our technology and the ways in which it can be used. But redesigning a tradeshow booth is not just a question of moving some walls and adjusting the lighting. You have to have consistent, rugged, dependable and, above all, extremely high-quality sources of content. That’s where 7thSense Design comes in – and we are delighted to have partnered with them in Orlando.”
