ASSIMILATE Announces Partnership with Panasonic for Post Production Support of Panasonic 3D Cameras
ASSIMILATE Joins Panasonic 3D and P2 Partners Programs
ASSIMILATE, the leading provider of powerful post-production tools for digital workflows, today announced its SCRATCH® and SCRATCH Lab™ digital cinema and broadcast tools will be the first to deliver world-class post-production support for the entire range of Panasonic professional digital cameras, including AG-3DA1, their current AVCHD based 3D camcorder and the AG-3DP1, an upcoming P2 AVC-Intra based stereoscopic 3D camcorder.
SCRATCH is the industry-leading, high-performance, digital cinema and broadcast finishing tool for digital workflows, while SCRATCH Lab is the industry’s first comprehensive Digital Lab tool for the review, versioning, color grading, conform and deliverables in on-set and VFX dailies pipelines.
Shipping in June 2011, both SCRATCH and SCRATCH Lab will support Panasonic’s native AVC-intra, P2/MXF format, and are the first DI tools to support the native AVCHD format. This gives anyone shooting on Panasonic cameras a seamless end-to-end digital pipeline, from shoot through post-production, enabling them to maximize both creativity and productivity.
“ASSIMILATE has a history of being “first to market” with powerful DI solutions for innovative digital cameras, such as the first RED One and now Epic,” said Jeff Edson, CEO of ASSIMILATE. “We’re very excited to work with Panasonic to add the AG-3DA1, the AG-3DP1 and all their professional cameras to that list. As the lines between the digital worlds of film and broadcast continue to blur, Panasonic cameras are taking the lead on price performance, especially in stereo/3D. Our technology partnership with Panasonic underscores ASSIMILATE’s dedication to natively support the camera formats required by our artists to meet the unique challenges of today’s production environments.”
“Panasonic has been consistent in offering unique innovative acquisition tools for creative professionals. The AG-3DA1, as the world’s first one-piece, twin lens hand-held camcorder, helped to enable the rapid expansion of stereo/3D,” said Kunihiko Miyagi, director of professional AV business unit of Panasonic. “I decided to officially recognize ASSIMLATE as one of our 3D and P2 Partners because of their commitment to AVC-Intra P2-3D as demonstrated at this year’s NAB show. We’re thrilled that our customers can now have the flexibility to choose our camera solution to best fit their needs, and have seamless a post-production workflow with SCRATCH.”
