Optimized for Digital Projection Requiring No Colour Correction
Harkness Screens, the world’s leading manufacturer of cinema screens, introduces Perlux® Digital at this year’s CinemaCon show (Booth 904A). Perlux® Digital retains all the features of the Perlux® line, with the added benefit of being optimised for digital projection. Screen samples will be available at the Harkness booth throughout the duration of CinemaCon.
“We developed our new Perlux Digital screens to provide cinema operators the ability to optimise digital projection and we are very happy to introduce it at CinemaCon 2011,” says Andrew Robinson, managing director of Harkness Screens.
Ideal for larger screens with active and passive 3D technologies (not using polarised light), such as Dolby 3D, and for large 2D screens, Perlux® Digital requires minimal colour correction during projector setup, thus reducing the complexity of converting to digital. Perlux® Digital is 30 percent whiter than the prior Perlux formation while maintaining the same impressive brightness, viewing angles and invisible seams that Harkness is known.
Harkness’ Perlux® brand gain screens (Perlux® 140, Perlux® 180 and Perlux® 220) include both 2D and 3D screen surfaces for any size theater.Harkness’ Perlux® screens are considered by leading cinema exhibitors and special venue operators worldwide to be the premier gain projection surface.
Perlux® 140 is a versatile 2D screen intended for medium-sized auditoria where as the Perlux® 180 is designed for larger auditoria. Both surfaces offer high contrast, bright pictures and wide viewing angles. Harkness’ proprietary and unique seam welding process ensures its screens have no visible seams under projection conditions. Perlux® 220 is a special ultra-high brightness screen intended for 3D non-polarised light systems such as Dolby and active glasses technologies and is also well-suited for very large 2D digital auditoria.
“Harkness Screens has always been committed to providing the cinema industry with cutting edge, state-of-the-art presentation surfaces and the Perlux® Digital is a testament to that fact,” adds Robinson.
