DVS shows new 3D features for CLIPSTER and Atomix HDMI
At this year’s NAB, DVS will continue to focus on the flexibility of its systems which are tailored to broadcast and post production customers’ needs. CLIPSTER® now supports the mezzanine formats IMF and MXF AS-02. Its VENICE video server implements workflows using Apple Final Cut Pro® and Avid ISIS®/Interplay PAM. Plus, the new member to its video boards family – Atomix HDMI – supports full HD 3D.
DVS will be presenting its latest products at booth SL3305. The leading manufacturer of hardware and software solutions will be focusing on the openness of its systems which deliver decisive advantages to customers in the field of broadcast, video post production and digital film.
At NAB, DVS will be presenting the many new features of its CLIPSTER® system including its extended mezzanine workflows which support MXF AS-02 as well as IMF (Interoperable Master Format). For the first time, this will enable post production customers to add different tracks to a digital master in accordance with the IMF standard. This includes video, audio, subtitles as well as closed captions, allowing different deliverables to be generated for DVD, Blu-ray, SDTV, HDTV, IPTV and many other formats. The JPEG2000 RGB/YUV data is compressed faster than real-time at a rate of 500 Mbit/s. CLIPSTER® also features an expanded toolset in the area of 3D. With its high-quality hardware, CLIPSTER® generates 3D DCPs (Digital Cinema Packages) in real time, speeding up 3D subtitling in 4K as well as DCI mastering. To assist with this, it features stereoscopic correction tools which can be automated or controlled manually.
VENICE, the multi-channel video server for the broadcast market, now also implements file-based workflows, supporting both Apple Final Cut Pro® as well as Avid ISIS® with Avid Interplay PAM (Production Asset Management). The codec variety and multi-channel capabilities of VENICE provide users with maximum flexibility, even allowing video content to be edited directly on the server using Final Cut Pro® while recording is still happening. The combination of DVS and Avid systems allows users to perform live video ingest via HD-SDI and file ingest of Professional DiscsTM and P2 storage media using VENICE.
The latest version of the DVS storage solution SpycerBox optimizes both the speed and efficiency of customer workflows. Once again, DVS has increased the capacity of its SpycerBox to 72 TB, enabling its customers to enjoy the perfect balance between speed and performance.
The latest member of the renowned Atomix boards family will debut at NAB. The high-performance Atomix HDMI video board meets all the requirements of high-end film, HDTV post production and broadcast applications as well as demanding presentations, and comes equipped with an extended range of functions. In addition to full HD 3D, the four HDMI ports also handle other demanding tasks associated with modern image editing.
Erik Balladares, General Manager at DVS Inc.: “This year NAB visitors will see new technological breakthroughs as DVS has once again delivered with our newest enhancements and features for CLIPSTER® and VENICE. We invite you to visit the DVS booth to see our dynamic solutions firsthand, and learn how they could significantly improve your post and broadcast workflows.”
