Harkness Announces its Spectral 240 3D Projection Surface Featured at CineAsia
Premier Presentation Venue Uses Silver Screen to Bring Upcoming 3D and 2D Films to Industry Professionals in Asian Cinema
Harkness Screens, the world’s leading manufacturer of projection screens, is pleased to announce that its Spectral™ 240 3D presentation surface will be showcased at CineAsia 2010’s premier screening venue.
The Spectral 240 silver screen, measuring five meters by nine meters, will be used in Theatre Two of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) for studio presentations of the cinema industry’s most anticipated upcoming releases.
“As the release of 3D films in cinemas continues to rise rapidly, we are proud that CineAsia has chosen to use our Spectral 240 3D silver screen in its main screening room,” says Jeff Samitt, managing director, group sales and marketing, Harkness Screens. “Our state-of-the-art Spectral 240 is a testament to our dedication to providing the worldwide cinema industry with the best presentation surfaces possible.”
CineAsia is the only pan-Asian event of its kind. As the sister event to ShowEast and Cinema Expo International, CineAsia maintains the same standards of programming, seminars, special events and suppliers. CineAsia also screens major Asian and Hollywood films and offers educational programs specifically geared toward the needs of the Asian cinema exhibition community.
The Harkness Spectral 240 3D screen is considered by cinema exhibitors and special venue operators worldwide to be the optimum 3D projection surface for systems using polarised light. The Spectral 240 features a high extinction ratio and provides spectacular 3D images. The surface also supports 2D images and can be used successfully in auditoriums where 2D and 3D are both shown. The intrinsically high gain (2.4) overcomes light losses in 3D systems.
